Sale not appealing England wing Solomona's 4-match ban

SALE, England — Sale will not appeal England winger Denny Solomona's four-match ban for verbally abusing Worcester flyhalf Jamie Shillcock.

Shillcock complained to the referee he was twice a target of alleged homophobic slurs by Solomona in an English Premiership match last month.

Solomona contested the charge of conduct prejudicial to the interests of the union or the game, but a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing found him guilty on Thursday.

Sale said on Friday it accepted the ban. Solomona will miss the rest of the Premiership unless Sale reach the playoffs.

Solomona has two caps for England, and was in the squad for the recent Six Nations but did not play.
