Growing up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Dr. Mikes graduated with her high school diploma from Cherry Hill High School West. She then attended Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology-Psychology. 

After receiving her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in 1993, she completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident during her final year. She has over twenty years of clinical experience both in private practice as well at a large university/teaching institution. 

Over the years, Dr. Mikes has narrowed her focus, specializing in gynecology and office gynecologic procedures. Her clinical interests include, but are not limited to, menopausal management, sexual function, preventative health, and regenerative and complementary medicine. She is committed to helping patients achieve their aesthetic goals while enhancing their natural beauty.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, she is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women's health.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system - vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
