With years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life science sector, Creative Diagnostics now launches a series of alkyne particles that are suitable to covalently capture azide-tagged biomolecules via a Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne click chemistry reaction (CuAAC). The proteins of interest need to be metabolically, enzymatically or chemically azide-tagged. Subsequently, alkyne particles containing the covalently attached proteins can be washed with high stringency, virtually eliminating any non-specifically bound proteins.

For example, the Absolute Mag™ Alkyne Magnetic Dextran Nanoparticles, 20 nm, which are prepared by precipitation of iron oxide in the presence of dextran. These nanoparticles are designed with alkyne groups on the surface, and are cluster-typed shaped and can be separated in a high gradient magnetic field.
