Board-certified in orthopedic surgery, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Receiving an honorable discharge as Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Adams enjoyed a successful 16-year military career in the Air Force and Army. During his time with the Armed Forces, he held the position of Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Fort Stewart, Georgia; Baghdad, Iraq; and Fort Carson, Colorado. He completed two combat deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq and provided humanitarian orthopedic care through the SIGN Fracture Care International organization.
