New York City, New York Dec 28, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - For nearly three decades, Dr. Couturier has been at the forefront of integrating craniosacral therapy and medical qigong, pioneering the combination of these practices - CranioSacralQigong - to promote natural healing, wellness, and overall health.
As an international speaker, she has developed numerous courses highlighting the synergistic benefits of these modalities. Patients worldwide, facing challenging conditions and unable to find help elsewhere, have experienced profound improvements in their health and happiness under Dr. Couturier's care. Her unique skills, unwavering dedication to healing, and extensive education and experience have made her a trusted and respected authority in her field.
Dr. Couturier's lifelong fascination with the intricate workings of the brain and the body's inherent capacity for healing began in her native France during her youth. Early on, she discovered the transformative power of daily meditation and the profound effects of achieving mental, physical, and emotional equilibrium on overall well-being.
Upon her relocation to the United States, Dr. Couturier decided to turn her passion for holistic health into a profession and enrolled in massage therapy school in 1989. During this period, she recognized her innate ability to listen to the body's wisdom, identifying hidden sources of pain and discomfort in others. However, it was a life-altering event--the diagnosis of her son with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 1990--that ignited her true quest for knowledge and healing. Despite grim prognoses, Dr. Couturier was determined to enhance her son's quality of life. This determination led her back to France, where she studied osteopathy at the prestigious British College of Osteopathy and Alternative Therapeutics in Paris under renowned osteopaths such as Phil Beach DO, Andrew Kerr DO, and Phil Tanswell DO. Her comprehensive education included classical osteopathic manual manipulation, along with modalities like cranial osteopathy, visceral manipulation..
Armed with her Osteopathic Certification in 1993, Dr. Couturier returned to the United States and delved into the study of craniosacral therapy. Developed by the esteemed John Upledger, DO, at Michigan State University, this gentle touch and cranial manipulation technique proved to be a powerful tool for stress relief, pain alleviation, and holistic healing. Dr. Couturier became a Diplomate Upledger CranioSacral Therapist, closely collaborating with Dr. Upledger at his clinic to support her son's health.
In 1994, her path intersected with Master Eduardo O'Campo, a transformative encounter that redirected her journey. Master O'Campo introduced her to the study and practice of Medical Qigong, setting her on a path to learn from some of the world's foremost Qigong Masters. Notable among her mentors are Dame and world renowned Grandmaster Dr. Effie P. Chow Ph.D, the founder of the World Congress on Qigong, Master Binhui He, the developer of Taiji Five-element Qigong, and Dr. Kevin Chen Ph.D, an esteemed Qigong teacher. Dr. Couturier earned her Doctorate from the International Institute of Medical Qigong in 2012 and holds a Doctorate of Medical Qigong (DMQ) from the Western District Medical Qigong Science and Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute.
Just a few months ago, Dr. Couturier was awarded the eminent award of Medical Qigong Master of the Year 2023 by the prestigious 23rd World Congress on Integrative Health: Healing with Peace.
Dr. Couturier is affiliated with esteemed organizations such as the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association, the National Qigong Association, the American Massage Therapy Association, the International Alliance of Healthcare Educators, and the Qigong Institute, boasting certifications from the National Certification Center of Energy Practitioners, Upledger Institute International, and the British College of Osteopathy and Alternative Therapeutics, among others.
U.S. Recognized as a Marquis Who's Who Industry Leader in 2023 and listed among top healthcare providers in the Palm Beach Post directory, Dr. Couturier is the brilliant author of "CranioSacralQigong Volume 1: Pathways To Consciousness Power," available worldwide.
Throughout her journey, she acknowledges the brilliance of her teachers, who are masters and innovators in their respective fields. However, her greatest teacher has been her son, Dorian. Despite doctors predicting a short life for him, he defied the odds and lived a vibrant and joyful life until the age of 31, surrounded by love. Through her relationship with him, Dr. Couturier learned the invaluable lesson that life is precious and fleeting, meant to be embraced and cherished to the fullest. She believes that every day and every moment is a miracle and a blessing, deserving continuous expressions of gratitude.
