Iowa experiences a humid continental climate. The summers get hot and humid with temperatures sometimes reaching up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The winters are extremely cold as temperatures often fall below freezing and touch -20 degrees Fahrenheit. The extreme weather conditions are compounded by the flat topography of the region, a lack of mountain ranges, sparse tree cover, and its distance from the coastline.

To prepare for such extremities in the climate, it becomes very important to make sure that the home air conditioning and heating are working at their optimum capabilities. One recommendation to make sure the home HVAC is functioning properly is to schedule periodic inspections. Homeowners can maintain a journal that chronicles the repairs and maintenance performed on the house. The journal can help homeowners track the items in the house that have gone the most time without maintenance. It can also help them potentially avoid being blindsided by expensive repairs if an ignored appliance in the house happens to fail.

Ductless heat pumps, a good solution to combat Iowa weather, do not work like a conventional furnace or air conditioner. Instead of generating heat, a heat pump moves heat from a cool space to a warm space. This makes the cool space cooler and the warm space warmer. This results in a system that provides up to 4 times the amount of energy that it consumes. Homeowners using heat pumps have reported savings of over 50% on their utility bills. Heat pumps are also ENERGY STAR rated to help consumers make the right choice. Homeowners are also offered rebates and incentives by local governments to encourage their adoption.

The president of Excel Comfort Inc., Ian Cardona, talks about his company’s services by saying, “Ductless heat pumps are a great solution for homeowners in Iowa to maintain their homes at comfortable temperatures while at the same time saving on their utility bills. If something happens to break, however, dealing with it can be an intimidating prospect. Homeowners that are not cognizant about the inner workings of their home’s heating and cooling solutions need to rely on experienced professionals to give them sound and reliable advice. Excel Comfort Inc. aims to help those homeowners and be the premier HVAC installation and maintenance company for those living in the Iowa Great Lakes Area. Our company has been built from the ground up, on the principles of quality workmanship, integrity, and outstanding customer service. If you are in the Iowa Great Lakes Area and are in need of our services, give us a call today and you will not be disappointed.”

The family-owned, locally-operated business is fully licensed and bonded. All of its installation and service technicians are factory-trained and certified and they only use the most reliable, high-quality, energy-efficient equipment. They service all models of air conditioners, furnaces, and heat pumps, and also offer free estimates through complimentary consultations. The products it offers are backed by an outstanding manufacturer warranty and they don’t levy additional charges for emergency services.

Excel Comfort Inc. is a Daikin DCP dealer and has earned Daikin Comfort Pro status, one of the highest and hardest distinctions to get in the industry that requires the company to put its staff through rigorous training to qualify.
