Fit, a renowned San Diego fitness center chain is proud to present its new San Diego gym located in Mission Beach opened August 1st. With 50,000 square feet overlooking the ocean in the southern tip of Belmont Park. This state-of-the-art gym offers members an unrivaled resort-like experience, on-the-sand fitness, spa-like locker rooms, cutting-edge fitness equipment, group fitness classes with ocean views and the option to have the floor to ceiling windows open for classes. This offers amazing views from all areas of the club, ocean breezes, and a private beach with lounge chairs and food service hosted by the Beach House. Other restaurants within a stone’s throw of the facility include the Draft House and Cannonball.
As part of its agreement with the City of San Diego, Fit also refurbished and modernized the adjacent 22,000 square foot Plunge pool, a historic San Diego landmark that was built in 1925 for the World Expo. Renamed “Plunge@Fit,” the fully restored and beautifully modernized pool house, including a retractable roof, reopened in July, and can now be enjoyed by the community and Fit members alike.
Fit’s CEO and founder, Scott Lutwak, first envisioned this facility seven years ago. “I wanted to build a fitness center that would not only serve as a destination for San Diegans wanting to spend a day at the beach but also help revitalize the Mission Beach community,” said Lutwak.
