Since 2021, she has held the position of Assistant Professor within the Division of Leukemia, Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Transplantation at City of Hope in Duarte, California. Additionally, she maintains affiliations with the City of Hope Newport Beach and the City of Hope West Covina.

Triple board certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine, she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

On a professional level, Dr. Pourhassan is an active member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Iranian Society for Protecting the Rights of the Child, and the American College of Physicians.
