"A Tale of Politics, Intrigue, War, and Lust"—Year of the Four Emperors will make an appearance at the Frankfurt Book Fair
Toronto, Ontario Oct 2, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - K. A. Khan, based in Toronto, with acclaim as an author, playwright, and songwriter, has released his debut novel Year of the Four Emperors: an exhilarating dark fantasy that deviates from typical Western European fantasy inspired by the mythology and mythos of Eastern Europe.
Following the death of the tyrannical Severus Valentinian, the Empire of Kristianborg was in need of a new emperor. Severus has four sons, each born by a different consort, who vie for the role, backed by disparate powers: Commodus, Leo, Andronikos, and Zeno.
Zeno's mother, Eleonora Ulrika, who climbed the ranks from a woman of lesser nobility to a powerful consort, uses all her wit, charm, and appeal to gain support for her son. However, the other queen consorts are no delicate flowers, and each wants her son on the throne. Battles, murder, bribes, and treachery ensue as each vies for the pinnacle of power.
Yet against this backdrop of politics, war, and a fight for the throne lies something more sinister, something more threatening, something no one empire of men can hold back. . . .
Published by FriesenPress, K. A. Khan's engrossing book is a tale of politics, intrigue, war, and lust. Its interest in political power struggles will captivate adult audiences as they embark on this remarkable adventure that will leave them on the edge of their seats.
Readers who wish to experience this enthralling tale can purchase Year of the Four Emperors at select retailers or online at Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Chapters Indigo, Google, Kobo, or FriesenPress bookstore.
