As the name suggests, ketone test strips are used for measuring the level of ketone in the human body. This measurement plays a critical role for individuals following low carb diet plans such as ketogenic, Atkins, Paleo, and others. Regular monitoring of body ketone can also help a great deal in managing type 1diabetes.
Many low carb diet plans are designed to force the body towards ketosis, a specific metabolic state under which it starts burning fat for the synthesis of energy. In its normal state, the body utilizes carbohydrate to synthesize energy. However, in the absence of carb, fat is used for this purpose. Therefore, in order to achieve ketosis, it is important to significantly restrict the consumption of carbs and this is what a low carb diet does. According to experts, ketosis can be reached in a few days by restricting the intake of carbs to less than twenty to fifty grams per day.
Achieving ketosis, however, is only half the job done because the monitoring of the body’s ketonic state is also essential. Ketones are produced in the body during ketosis, and are released into the blood and urine. By measuring the ketone concentration of the body, it is possible to find out whether it is under ketosis. Millions of individuals around the world use ketone test strips for this purpose because it is inexpensive, and can be used by anyone without any initial medical supervision.
The ketone testing strips from Just Fitter were manufactured maintaining extremely high quality standards. The product is made from Sodium Nitroprusside 7.1% W/W, on a PVA plastic strip. Ketonic state of the body can be measured by placing these strips in the urine midstream for one or two seconds and comparing the changed color with the reference chart provided with the pack. These strips have an unopened shelf life of two years, and they can retain accuracy for two to three months after breaking the seal.
In the recently posted review, the reviewer stated, “These arrived the day after ordering. I have found the strips to be sensitive enough to give a good daily reading and the subtle changes on a daily basis. The aftercare sales and information have been brilliant. I will use again and recommended to anyone looking for an easy to use and read Keto strip. ”
