The ranking are based on 2016 revenues with McDermott reporting almost $2.7 million for the year on an average project size of $27,000 that typically includes kitchens, bathrooms, basements and additions.
“We have enjoyed steady growth as more homeowners in the St. Louis region find the value and benefits or remodeling rather moving into a new home,” said Owner Josh McDermott. “With vision and creativity the home you thought was no longer suitable for your lifestyle can be made to blend with it.”
McDermott attributed the growth to several factors including the companys design-build approach that includes utilizing its in-house degreed interior designers and seasoned master craftsmen. “We have been a St.Louis-based remodeler for more than 20 years and continue to serve the immediate area, but are also looking to serve new markets,” he said.
McDermott said that it maintains a network of reputable vendors, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the entire region enabling to work efficient of in the greater St. Louis region, as well as the Illinois side of the river.
“We view the metropolitan area not as two halves, but as one,” he said.
One of McDermotts specialties that is quite useful on the St. Louis side is in historic preservation. The company has worked on several projects where the craft of updating or renovating a historic home is necessary to maintain that structure’s integrity. Aside from maintaining the historical integrity of St. Louis, they also specialize in kitchen and bath remodeling.
McDermott Remodeling was founded by Tim McDermott in 1993 and several of the lead craftsmen who started with the company are still there today. It is the only contractor in the metro-east region with two degreed interior designers on staff.
