Mumbai, Apr 8, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - KRISHGEN, today announced that, as of April 1, 2020, it has entered into a distribution agreement with Addgene (USA) to improve access to useful research material for Indian scientists.

Addgene is a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, located in Watertown, Massachusetts. Addgene is dedicated to facilitating scientific discoveries by operating a plasmid library for researchers. Addgene's collection contains over 86,000 plasmids contributed by 4,100 research labs around the world. Addgene also provides more than 450 ready-to-use AAV and lentivirus preparations of commonly requested plasmids as a service to scientists - saving them time and providing thorough quality control. Over 1.2 Million plasmids have been distributed to 100 countries by Addgene - with over 750 item requests being fulfilled each day.

Addgene is an independent organization and charges a small fee for its material and services to fulfill its mission and ensure that all scientists have access to high-quality research materials and curated data. Addgene is also building and providing free access to a variety of molecular biology educational resources, including protocols, blog posts, and eBooks.

Krishgen will offer assistance to scientists who want to use Addgene's services by placing orders, processing material transfer agreement (MTA) paperwork, and delivering materials. The company will also provide customer support services. "Krishgen is uniquely positioned to provide life science products to researchers in academia with its support skills, logistics and marketing. We continue to deliver on our promise to bring the best technologies and products to India," said Kalpesh Jain, COO of Krishgen Biosystems.
