This upcoming release from the author of the renowned Peachtree Bluff series will mark her tenth major novel publication, and will introduce an all-new cast of characters to her literary world. Early reviewers have called the book a feel-good, distinctly warm, and heartfelt addition to Harvey’s body of work, and have placed it as one of her best narratives yet.
“The Summer Of Songbirds” will follow the story of summer camp proprietor June Moore as she struggles to hold on to everything she has worked for. Along the way, she will reunite with a group of former campers, now grown and facing challenges of their own. Together, they will fight to save the camp they once held so dear.
One reviewer stated, “The Summer of Songbirds is a beautiful story about unconditional love. Without completely escaping the realities of adulthood, Harvey perfectly captures the nostalgia of childhood summers, the beginnings of lifelong friendships, and the enduring memories of first loves that never completely fade. This made me both laugh and cry but most of all, it inspired me with the ultimate message of forgiveness & the importance of choosing to repair relationships with the people we love most.”
The book will be made available on July 11th at a special launch event taking place in Nantucket, MA, at the Nantucket Atheneum. At the event, Harvey will discuss her work live in conversation with friend and fellow author Elin Hilderbrand. Following this conversation, both authors will be available to meet with fans, and to sign copies of this new novel.
The book is ideal for fans of southern fiction and especially for women readers, providing a cathartic, emotionally rich addition to any summer reading list.
