Los Angeles Magazine Names DLV Vision’s Dr. Asha Balakrishnan as L.A. Top Doctor
May 1, 2023
May 01, 2023 - /PressAdvantage/ - Westlake Village, CA — DLV Vision has announced that Asha Balakrishnan, M.D., has been awarded as a top doctor in Los Angeles by Los Angeles magazine for 2023. The annual list is compiled and verified by Professional Research Services, a firm that specializes in conducting yearly countrywide peer-to-peer surveys. As the nominations are the result of practicing physicians responding with whom they deemed worthy of consideration, the award comes as another highlight to Dr. Balakrishnan and DLV Vision as a practice.
DLV Vision has established its reputation as a practice that patients can trust to deliver high-quality results, in part due to their doctors’ work in the industry. Dr. Balakrishnan’s colleagues, in particular, were excited by the accolade.
“We thank her for her devotion, commitment, and hard work,” said Paul Dougherty, M.D., DLV Vision’s medical director. “The continuous impact she makes on her patients, clinic team, and the L.A. community is truly remarkable!”
Dr. Balakrishnan is no stranger to receiving awards and recognition by the wider ophthalmic surgery community, having previously been awarded the Leo Tauber, M.D., and David Fainer, M.D., Award for Vision Care Specialist of the Year by the Ventura County Medical Research Foundation in 2022. Being recognized by Los Angeles magazine as one of the best doctors practicing in the Los Angeles area today adds to her esteemed reputation. The cataract, cornea, and refractive surgeon has presented nationally at conferences and published various articles in medical journals detailing her more academic-based work.
“It is such an honor to receive this award,” said Dr. Balakrishnan. “I love what I do, and I love that I might be able to help new patients because they saw my name on the list and decided I was someone they can trust. I’ve spent years in the industry working on different aspects of refractive surgery, really trying to reach a level of excellence in service of my patients, so to be recognized for that is very exciting and fills me with gratitude.”
Los Angeles magazine has been in publication since 1961 and has reported on topics ranging from food and culture to current events in the L.A. area. It’s earned three National Magazine Awards since its conception. The annual “Top Doctors” list is further verified by cross-checking the California Medical Board’s license profile database as well as the Department of Consumer Affairs. The names are narrowed down to around 1300 and acts as a resource for readers who are seeking experts in a variety of specialties.
The atmosphere at DLV Vision reflected a feeling of pride in one of their own and projected a congratulatory feeling that a deserving member of the practice was receiving her dues, as well as a confirmation of the practice’s quality. DLV Vision is open and taking appointments for new and existing patients at all their locations.
