New York City, New York Jun 13, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Recognized as a caring and compassionate pulmonologist, Dr. Agarwala works with patients at NYU Langone Pulmonary Associates - Mineola. She uses a holistic approach to each of her patients and takes the time to listen to each of their stories and needs. She specializes in treating patients with interstitial lung disease, particularly idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She also takes care of patients with pulmonary conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and asthma, and performs bronchoscopies and endobronchial ultrasounds to biopsy lymph nodes.
"Medicine has always appealed to me because it combines science and interacting and connecting with people. I previously worked in consulting and resented sitting behind a computer all day. As a doctor, I love hearing about my patients' individual stories and having the privilege of taking care of them. Because I was so intrigued by pulmonary physiology, I specialized in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Critical care medicine allows me to also practice all of internal medicine" expressed the doctor.
Back in 2010, she earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, before completing her residency in internal medicine at the NYU School of Medicine in 2013. She completed her fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the same educational venue in 2016.
As a testament to her continued education, Dr. Agarwala is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
With a passion for teaching, she serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor within the Department of Medicine at NYU Long Island School of Medicine. She can also be found on staff at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care - Bethpage.
