PUEBLO, Colo. - Aug. 1, 2019 - PRLog -- Western Sports Foundation (WSF), the first program to provide a full range of wellness resources and services for life beyond a career in western sports, hosted its first Athlete Performance Clinic this week in Pueblo, Colorado.
Twenty-one athletes from around the country gathered for three days of educational sessions, workouts, discussion roundtables, interactions and use of the newest training and physical recovery facilities available in the Professional Bull Riders' new PBR Sport Performance Center. The PBR Sport Performance Center is the world's only high-performance training and recovery center designed for western sports athletes, while also welcoming athletes from other sports.
National experts and professionals in neurological services, brain trauma education, sports psychology, life skills and mental toughness, counseling, financial planning and physical training were on hand to assist the athletes in preparing for both current competitions while also planning for their future beyond the sport.
" WSF's full range of services providing a comprehensive free program to assist western sports athletes in improving their overall wellness for themselves, their families and the extended families of their communities is truly a game-changer," said Aubrey O'Quin, WSF Director of Programs and Operations.
Ezekiel Mitchell, a PBR Rookie of the Year contender who is no. 17 in the world and was one of the athletes participating this week commented, "This has been an awesome experience. Western Sports Foundation made a huge difference for me and my family when I needed assistance, and this week's program is just another example of how much they are doing for western athletes."
Additional Athlete Performance Clinics are being planned for late-2019 and minimally two in 2020. Western athletes interested in receiving information on the upcoming clinics should e-mail their contact information to Aubrey O'Quin at [email protected].
